The Core Metagenics Supplements I Take—and Why

These are the supplements that form the foundation of my own routine. They are personal to me, based on my age, health history, diet, lifestyle, and lab results.

Core Metagenics Supplements

I don’t believe in taking supplements simply because they are popular. I want a reason for everything I take, and I periodically reassess whether it still belongs in my routine.

1. Magnesium Glycinate

I use magnesium glycinate primarily for muscle and nervous-system support and as part of my evening routine. It is generally well tolerated and is one of the forms of magnesium I prefer.

2. Magtein® Magnesium L-Threonate

I use magnesium L-threonate when I want additional cognitive support. It is a form of magnesium designed to increase magnesium levels in the brain and is being studied for its potential role in memory and cognitive health.

3. OmegaGenics® EPA-DHA 720

Omega-3 fatty acids are important for cardiovascular and brain health. I use a concentrated EPA-DHA supplement as part of my long-term health routine.

4. Vitamin D3 5000 + K

Vitamin D plays an important role in bone, muscle, and immune health. I use vitamin D based on my individual needs and lab results rather than assuming that one dose is right for everyone.

Vitamin K is commonly paired with vitamin D because both are involved in calcium and bone metabolism.

5. PhytoMulti® Without Iron

This is the multivitamin I use to provide nutritional backup along with phytonutrients and antioxidants. I choose the iron-free version because it is more appropriate for my current needs.

6. UltraFlora® Complete Probiotic

I use a probiotic as part of my approach to digestive and gut health, particularly when travel, stress, diet, or other changes disrupt my usual routine.

What I’ve Noticed

Over time, and as part of a much larger health routine, I have noticed stronger nails, improvement in my naturally fine hair, better digestion, more consistent energy, improved sleep, and better mental clarity.

I would never attribute all of those changes to supplements alone.

Food, movement, sleep, stress management, health conditions, medications, and other factors all matter. Supplements are just that: supplemental.

Your Supplement Plan Should Be Personal

This is my routine, not a prescription for yours.

Before adding supplements, consider your diet, medications, health history, symptoms, and—when appropriate—lab results. Some nutrients can be harmful in excessive amounts or interact with medications, which is why more is not automatically better.

If you want to check specific health markers without waiting for an annual physical, you can also order many lab tests directly through my Ulta Lab Tests link:

I generally prefer to test when useful, supplement with a purpose, and periodically reassess.

All of the products above are made by Metagenics, a professional-grade supplement company I have used and trusted for many years.

If something here raises a question about your own supplement routine, that is a good place to start: not with another bottle, but with understanding what your body may actually need.
